DoE Launches Smart Energy Analytics Campaign
The Department of Energy (DoE) last week launched the Smart Energy Analytics Campaign. The goal, the DoE says, is to increase adoption of Energy Management and Information Systems (EMIS) by commercial building owners and operators.
Even if operating correctly at a given point, buildings can quickly go “out of tune.” EMIS systems use analytics to find and handle problems that make this happen. The DoE, the story says, has identified EMIS as a High Impact Technology (HIT). Participants will have access to tools from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and be eligible for awards. Signups will begin later this spring, the DoE said.
The DoE recently released a toolkit developed by its Better Buildings Energy Data Accelerator. The “Energy Data Access: Blueprint for Action Toolkit” contains best practices adopted by cities and utilities.
