Energy Efficiency Saves School District $30,000 per Year

Schneider-Electric energy manageSchneider Electric completed an energy savings performance contract (ESPC) for Tenino School District in Washington, which will help save the district $30,000 in energy and operational costs annually over 15 years.

Funded in part through a $1 million Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) energy grant, the school district addressed utility and maintenance improvements to reduce energy consumption by 13 percent and bring the district up to air quality standards.

District-wide utility and deferred maintenance improvements included:

  • Lighting upgrades
  • Elementary and middle school HVAC upgrades
  • Elementary and middle school energy management system upgrades
  • High school roof repairs
