What the Judges Said…
“LG extending its solar panel range to include the strongest residential panel available from the company is helping bring solar power to the masses. Solid success in a much-needed energy sector.”
LG Electronics’ NeON R is a high-efficiency residential solar panel with a high power output designed for homeowners with smaller rooftop footprints so they can consider solar as an option for their energy needs. The panel is LG’s highest power module for residential installation, with a power output up to 365 watts.
The panel can help homeowners reduce their energy bills and carbon footprints. It comes with a 25-year warranty to cover product, performance, and labor. LG calls the NeON R cost-effective to install. The panel also moves the electrodes to the back for a seamless visual as well as higher performance and energy harvest because it maximizes light absorption. In addition, an improved temperature coefficient allows the panel to perform better on sunny days, with a % of -0.30/°C and results in a slower degradation rate, according to LG.
The panel provides consumers with 365 watts per panel rating for 60 cells, compared to most conventional panels that have a 290-watt rating. This results in 26% more power, LG says. Unlike conventional P-type solar modules, the N-type cells used in the NeON R use almost no boron so light-induced degradation is reduced significantly, maximizing performance and maintaining maximum potential power output for the life of the module.
The LG NeON R can endure a front load of 6000 pascals and a rear load up to 5400 pascals, making it durable in weather conditions that include snow and hail, the company says. LG adds that these panels have the highest wind and snow load rating in the industry.
