MACH Energy Management Software
What the Judges Said…
“The product is definitely useful for building and facility managers, sustainability, or environmental managers. The real proof is how it has assisted users in realizing substantial cost savings.”
MACH is cloud-based utility data analytics and reporting software that is accessible through computers and mobile devices. MACH works closely with end users to help them reach sustainability goals, reduce operational expenses, and make the end users’ jobs easier. MACH says they help end users automate energy budgeting and accruals, tenant bill-backs, and reporting. The company’s software also integrates with Energy Star’s Portfolio Manager.
MACH’s software can address specific challenges. Initiatives are actionable, automatically generated, and tracked, and can save time. Initiatives leverage machine learning, and are benchmarked against other buildings. Rather than relying on average cost shortcuts, MACH’s utility-grade tariff engine provides customers with more accurate Initiatives, reporting, and M&V, the company says.
Besides providing end users with turnkey data acquisition, the software’s features include ease of use, deep analytics, mobile functionality, a utility-grade tariff engine, and a standards-based M&V 2.0 feature that allows users to see energy savings on efficiency projects and operational improvements within a few minutes, the company says.
MACH reports that from 2016 to 2017, there were half a million minutes of usage. MACH says they helped customers save $41.5 million and 435,637 MWh in 2017. Also last year, MACH was selected over a handful of other vendors by global leaders and two publicly traded REITs. The software has helped users collectively reduce 406,223 tons of carbon dioxide to date, according to the company. The company says that 47% of their customers use MACH to benchmark on Energy Star, increasing portfolio-wide Energy Star scores by 3% on average.
Carr Properties owns approximately $1.5 billion of commercial office properties in the greater Washington, DC area. MACH has worked with Carr Properties since 2011. MACH says the company’s solution and process saved the Carr team time and energy, and delivered a successful set-up within days. MACH identified potential savings of $22,000 as well as energy reduction resulting in an increase of 4 Energy Star points.
