Connecticut’s Small Business Energy Advantage Program has selected the Energy Source division of LED fixture provider Revolution Lighting Technologies to provide cost-effective, turnkey, energy retrofit solutions to about 20,000 commercial and industrial customers of regional electric distribution company United Illuminating.
The program, announced on April 13, will be formally administered by United Illuminating, and will be targeted at C&I customers of the utility with peak energy demand of between 10kW and 200kW per month.
Energy Source’s territory within this new program will cover 18 Connecticut towns — Ansonia, Bridgeport, Derby, East Haven, Easton, Fairfield, Hamden, Long Island Sound, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull, West Haven, and Woodbridge.
The program will address technologies, including lighting, controls, HVAC, and motor upgrades, refrigeration controls, and other measures to reduce both electric and gas consumption. Energy efficiency upgrades will include the installation of high-efficiency lighting solutions, such as Revolution Lighting’s LED products, which the company claims are capable of reducing existing lighting energy use by more than 65 percent.
The program will be funded by The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund.
SBEA program contractors enable small businesses to reduce energy costs by identifying and implementing cost-effective energy efficient opportunities, promoting education, and procuring financial incentives.
