Sandpiper Energy – a subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities that distributes natural gas and propane to about 11,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Worcester County, Maryland – announced on November 16 that the Public Service Commission of Maryland (PSC) had approved a settlement agreement (Case No. 9410) associated with its 2015 base rate case filing, which will result in a reduction in its delivery service rates over the next six years.
On August 23, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) and Choptank Electric Cooperative jointly filed a petition (Docket No. EL16-107-000) with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requesting that the commission review a June decision by the Public Service Commission of Maryland (PSC) regarding a three-year community solar pilot program.
On June 3, the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) denied a substantial portion of the Baltimore Gas & Electric’s (BGE’s) request to boost its rates (Case No. 9406) for gas and electricity – first filed last November – by $224.5 million, granting instead a revenue increase of $89.5 million.
Pepco – which promised benefits and savings to its 560,000 customers in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County, Maryland, when it merged with Exelon on March 23 –filed a 10 percent rate increase request on April 19 with the Maryland Public Service Commission. The reason … Read more…
