On April 13, financial services provider Wells Fargo announced a $20 million expansion of the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2), a five-year, $10 million program launched in 2014, designed to facilitate early-stage technologies that reduce the energy impact of commercial buildings.

NY PSC Adopts Landmark Orders to Value Distributed Energy, Test Energy Storage

On March 9, the New York State Public Service Commission approved a new pricing structure (Cases 15-E-0751, 15-E-0082) for distributed energy resources, designed to promote community solar projects statewide and to gradually phase out net energy metering. The commission also directed the state’s investor-owned utilities to deploy at least two energy storage projects by the end of 2018.

As a result of the order, rooftop solar may decline after 2020 and community solar has been fostered.

Comverge Rolls Out Utility’s DR and Efficiency Program for Commercial Customers

Norcross, Georgia-based Comverge announced on January 23 that the company has recently contracted to roll out an integrated demand response and energy efficiency program to small and medium businesses (SMBs) for one of the top five largest U.S. investor-owned utilities.
